The advantage of APE and FLAC file is that a music CD is ripped without loosing quality, so it keeps original quality, not like MP3 (compressed files --> quality losed, maximum bitrate at the moment only 320Kbs)

2. How to play a APE, FLAC file?

01. Let's assume, we have two files: Romantic Meditations.ape and Romantic Meditations.cue (names can be any).
02. You can listen at once to a file Romantic Meditations.ape – for example in a player foobar2000 (Freeware). (IMPORTANT: Do not forget download and install plug-in Monkey's Audio decoding support!). For this purpose place a file Romantic Meditations.cue in foobar2000 (player will divide a disk into separate tracks). NOTE: You can AT ONCE convert tracks in other format. For this purpose: a) In play-leaf allocate a track with the right button of the mouse; b) In the menu choose “Convert => Convert to” c) Specify a format of a file – for example, *.mp3 Or read further.
03. Download Monkey's Audio (Freeware)
04. Extract Romantic Meditations.ape by means of Monkey's Audio
05. Have received one big file Romantic Meditations.wav. It is an exact image of musical CD.
06. Open a file Romantic Meditations.cue in a Notepad (or any other text editor – actually it is a usual file *.txt).
07. In the top lines we see section FILE. In it is written: FILE "Romantic Meditations.ape" WAVE
08. We change this line on FILE "Romantic Meditations.wav" WAVE
09. Now you can mount Romantic Meditations.wav in virtual CD-ROM (for example, by means of Alcohol 120%). And to listen to a file as usual musical CD. Or read further.
10. Download EAC (Freeware)
11. In menu EAC choose: “Tools => Split WAV By CUE Sheet...”
12. After processing you receive some files *.wav (their number to equally quantity of songs on a disk)
13. Select them by means of mouse also move in window EAC
14. EAC transforms *.wav in *.mp3 (or any other format – according to your desire).
15. Enjoy.
